Service Members and Veterans: a Free Fly Fishing Event!

The Providence Vet Center, in collaboration with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, is thrilled to announce a special event designed exclusively for our esteemed Service Members and Veterans: a Free Fly Fishing Event!

Date: Saturday, June 24

Time: 0900-1500

Location: 13 Old Richmond Townhouse Road, Richmond, RI (Carolina Trout Hatchery)

This event aims to provide a unique recreational experience that combines the tranquility of nature with the art of fly fishing. It is an opportunity for you to unwind, connect with fellow Service Members and Veterans, and create lasting memories.

Whether you are an experienced angler or have never tried fly fishing before, this event welcomes participants of all skill levels. Our team of knowledgeable instructors will be present to guide you through the fundamentals and share their expertise. You will have the chance to learn casting techniques, knot tying, fly selection, and other essential skills to help you master the art of fly fishing.

Here are a few highlights of what the event has to offer:

1. Instruction and Guidance: Experienced instructors will provide hands-on training, ensuring that both beginners and experienced anglers can improve their fly fishing skills.
2. Equipment and Gear: All necessary fly fishing equipment, including rods, reels, flies, and other essentials, will be provided at no cost. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn!
3. Scenic Location: Our event will take place in the picturesque surroundings of the Carolina Trout Hatchery. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature while enjoying the peacefulness of fly fishing.
4. Camaraderie and Networking: Connect with fellow service members and veterans who share your experiences and values. This event provides an excellent opportunity to forge new friendships and build a supportive community.
5. Free Lunch provided by the Rhode Island VFW Auxiliary
