Rhode Island Veterans Home

rivh
The Rhode Island Veterans Home (RIVH) serves as a testament to our state’s appreciation for all the men and women who honorably served in the United States military. Rebuilt from the ground up in 2017, the Home provides housing and care for Rhode Island’s Wartime Veterans, and it is located on the same 100 -acre parcel that has served as the home for Rhode Island’s Veterans since 1890.
The Veterans Home is designed for improved Person-Centered Care in a community-based model.  The Home is built upon the premise of interconnected service and accessibility for Veterans and their visiting families. The design concept focuses around six “neighborhoods,” which are groups of resident housing, providing a closer and more personal sense of community. This community living design creates a home for residents and leads to more meaningful and fulfilling lives, as well as ensuring a relationship-rich living environment.

The mission of the Veterans Home continues to be the delivery of high-quality nursing care, responsiveness to resident health and safety needs, and the commitment to providing the highest quality of life for Rhode Island’s military heroes.
