The Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA)

Program Description

SENEDIA supports defense and national security efforts in southeast New England. Our members are small and large businesses who provide products and services for the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, and individuals who have an interest in defense and homeland security. Our mission is to enable the development and transition of critical technologies, foster thought leadership in undersea technology, cybersecurity, and critical defense technologies, and facilitate workforce development in these areas.

SENEDIA focuses on:

• Economic Development: Supporting well-paying, meaningful defense and national security related jobs, with an emphasis on innovation, to sustain and grow our southeast New England Defense Industry base.
• Workforce Development: Building the pipeline of future national security workers and providing training to incumbent workers.
• Cybersecurity initiatives, supported by a strategic partnership with the Maritime Cybersecurity Center, a 501(c)3 research and training organization.
• Undersea Technology initiatives, supported by a strategic partnership with the Undersea Technology Innovation Center, a 501(c)3 organization.

Services

• The pension benefit is paid in 12 equal monthly installments.
• Job search assistance via resume distribution to member companies
• Multiple networking opportunities to strengthen ties with clients and colleagues in the defense and homeland security industries
• SENEDIA-sponsored workshops and presentations throughout the year, including SENEDIA’s annual Defense Innovation Days
• Regular e-communications with information of relevance to the defense and homeland security industries
• Internships for cybersecurity/IT and undersea technology/engineering college students in Rhode Island
• Five-day boot camp trainings for CompTIA certification preparation
