About Us 

Rhode Island Veterans Network (RIVN) is a Veteran-led community initiative built to strengthen connection, opportunity, and support for Veterans across Rhode Island and New England. We bring Veterans and Veteran-friendly employers, organizations, and allies together in a practical, welcoming environment focused on relationships and real outcomes.

RIVN’s mission is simple: reduce isolation, increase opportunity, and help Veterans find purpose and community after service—through consistent in-person connection and reliable online resources. RIVN is non-political and exists solely to support Veterans.

Services Provided

Rhode Island Veterans Network (RIVN) connects Veterans with opportunities, community, and purpose across Rhode Island and New England. We provide a free, community-driven network that helps Veterans build relationships, access career support, and find trustworthy resources—without fees, memberships, or paywalls.

Services include:

• Monthly networking and community events (no cost to attend; Veterans cover only their own optional food/drinks if they choose to purchase).
• Veteran Career & Support Directory: a free, Veteran-focused resource page that helps Veterans connect with Veterans and allies who can advise, refer, and hire, and find trusted programs and support resources.
• Free career and professional development opportunities shared through our network (e.g., no-cost certification training and partner-provided training opportunities when available).
• Informal mentorship and warm introductions within the community to help Veterans navigate transition, job searches, and local support options.

Eligibility 

• All services listed by Rhode Island Veterans Network are free and open to:
• Veterans (any era, any branch).
• Service members in transition.
• Spouses of Veterans when relevant to employment or support.
• Allies and organizations who support the Veteran community may participate in events and the network, but RIVN’s services are designed to benefit Veterans at no cost.
• No income requirements. No membership requirements. No referral required.

How to Apply 

No application is required to access RIVN resources.

To participate:

• Veterans can sign up for email notifications for events and opportunities by registering on the website rivetsnetwork.org
• Veterans can attend RIVN events by viewing upcoming events on the website and following the RSVP/registration instructions for each event (if RSVP is requested).
